www.ticketweb.com - 9pm

Price: $10

Our newest bestest Ghetotech Bluegrass band seems to have as much fun playing here as we love having them - and on a Friday too!

About SPLIT LIP RAYFIELD
“I'll Be Around is an affirmation of the band's 14-year journey and the scars its gas-tank bass and three surviving members have accumulated.” -Richard Gintowt (Pitch Weekly)
"Slap your knee to these guys and you'll be sore the next day." - New York Press

A band of badasses with the avowed intent of kicking the oldtime sound in the posterior till it shouts out a brand new tune. CMJ New Music Report

"The fearsome foursome of Split Lip combines a traditional bluegrass sound with the blazing speed and energy of punk rock, and in the process manages to improve on the formula. Should have Seen it Coming is quite possibly the best recorded document of its myriad skills and charm." - Tucson Weekly

Who'd a thunk the Mad Monks would be a perfect fit to open for a bluegrass band. www.myspace.com/madmonks1

Trampled By Turtles + The Boomchucks

www.ticketweb.com - 9pm

Price: $10 in advance

We've been working on this one for a long time:

For those who are simply fans of music, not bound by rules or forms, Trampled by Turtles take pieces of it all and just play from the heart. Call it alt-bluegrass, nontraditional string, indie-folk, rock-grass, punk-grass or anything else, they don’t care what name you put on it, just show up with an open mind and it won’t be long until you fall under their spell. Like all of us, where they were raised has influenced what they are and these guys didn’t grow up in southern roots country, they come from way up north where folks do it a little different.

Beyond their raucous, genre-bending live shows, TBT are dedicated to songcraft and have released four albums. They recorded their 2004 debut, Songs from a Ghost Town, in an old Catholic church in Duluth. 2005’s Blue Sky and the Devil was also recorded in Duluth, and in 2006 they dropped their first live album, Live at Luce.

Papadosio

9pm

Price: $6

We got pretty lucky on this one:

Some music, because of its originality, timelessness, mass appeal, or perhaps because it is just plain odd, will always be destined for the hallowed halls of cult classicism. No band fits this criteria better than Papadosio. In just 4 years Papadosio has wowed crowds from Denver to NYC, Cleveland to Atlanta, shaking the earth at festivals and clubs alike.
Papadosio's music is all about unexpected combinations. From Rock/House to Jazz/Hop to Dub/Breaks and so on, every song has a unique approach to attaining originality. Long improvisational interludes and vocal harmonies quickly set this group in a new category of mass appeal.
...with an amplified message of transcendence, unity, and universal understanding, Papadosio's mission is clear: To combine eclectic musical traditions with modern Electronica to stir the heart and fuel the mind.
Press:
Adam Fox(Universal Studio's): "It is rare for Bands to have such control, understanding, and objectivity as they create and produce their own music. Young, freakishly mature, and wise beyond their years, Papadosio has just released a sophisticated work of art."
