Iowa City Yacht Club: Home
The Yacht Club is Iowa City's main source for live music set in an environment where you truly are part of the music. We have entertainment 6 nights a week with friendly servers, a coat check, ventilation system, plus serve tater tots! Trust us when we say this is not a financial endeavor - it really is about having a great time.
The Yacht Club is located in the basement of 13 S Linn St - across the street from the Cottage/new parking ramp, in a building built in 1918. The exterior of the building has remained basically unchanged since it was built and was restored in 2000. One of the best things about our location is that there is free parking right across the street if you leave after midnight on weekdays and after 3am on weekends.
We are here for your fun - plain and simple. We are not some out of town corporation and we are not some small time bar owner trying to squeeze the life out of each penny. If at the end of the night we break even but the band was great and you had a ton of fun, then we consider that a win.
Congratulations to Dead Larry for winning the Yacht Club/Minstrel Studios/New Belgium Brewery Battle of the Bands. Also congrats to Ephraim Zenh for getting second out of twenty bands. Thanks to all for attending/competing/voting/partying.

The Mayflies have been pushing the outer limits of jam rock and bluegrass in the greater Midwest region and Colorado since 2001. In concert, The Mayflies are known for their inexhaustible energy; whipping their fans into a sweat-drenched, blissful frenzy. The instrumental interplay between the quartet is something to behold.

The last show was so much fun, let's do it again.
Equipped with a ’rode hard and put away wet,’ whiskey-soaked rasp and a deep bag of keyboard chops that echoes some of the greats of country, rhythm & blues and gut-bucket rock, David Zollo brings to The Big Night the kind of savvy, trans-genre synthesis you might expect from a grizzled road warrior twenty or more years his senior.
